PROJECT
Meditation Practice iOS app
MY ROLE
UX & UI design
Project B is designed to help people foster a regular meditation practice using weekly prompts. I was asked to design a mobile experience that would complement the, already available, deck of printed cards.
Design a beautiful, intuitive mobile application to complement the printed cards and build on the overall product experience.
To design an intuitive mobile application that would build on the overall product experience. The application needed to enhance the overall experience and compliment the already available printed deck of cards, and it needed to add something new to keep people interested.
I designed and facilitated an initial discovery workshop to understand the project scope, target audience, branding and business needs.
Wireframes were created to map out the architecture, followed by low-fidelity prototypes that were tested with a user base. These designs revolved around mimicking the physical cards and how people currently interact with them. With these initial designs I was trying to capture the experience of actually holding a card in your hand, but it soon became apparent that users wanted something more engaging from the app. It needed to build on the physical experience, not just mimic it.
A notes section was added to enable users to document their progress with a particular meditation. A card timeline was also proposed to help users visualise their journey and revisit previous cards and notes.
The architecture was restructured and a new round of high-fidelity prototypes created and tested with the same user group. Feedback from this group helped to shape the core experience.
The application was successfully launched and has been well received on the app store.

“After our first meeting I had such a firm resolve that Dave was the UX designer to help create my app from idea to implementation.
He was involved in every aspect of the design process of the app. His knowledge, skill, experience and thoughtful communication lifted the app beyond my wildest dreams.”
